No. I have a question. Take a look at the scsi terminator you
installed. Does it have a
single diamond or a double diamond on it? (The D1000 is a differential
scsi device
and if you put the wrong terminator on you could have weird results)

That's not an absolute standard. I've seen many exceptions.

Many (most?) Sun provided terminators simply have "DIFFERENTIAL" printed
on one side.

I think it's unlikely to be the problem anyway. A SE/LVD terminator on
a D1000 bus should jam the whole thing to the point you'd never see the
devices in the first place.

The terminator that's on the D1000 is labeled "DIFFERENTIAL". I have
double checked all the cables and the connections. My last option is to
replace all cables and terminator.

Prasad,

I would agree to replace both cable and terminator and see if you still
have the issue (if possible replace the connector cable as well), but
if you still have the problem then you are left with 3 possibilities:
a) the host controller b) faulty disk(s) c) the D1000 backplane.

Prasad,

I took a look at your errors again and saw this line:
Jul 31 16:00:11 jumper2 scsi: WARNING: /pci@1e,600000/scsi@3 (glm6):
Jul 31 16:00:11 jumper2 Target 5 reducing sync. transfer rate

After replacing the cable that would be the drive I'd replace (I'm
assuming you will still have the problem after the cable replacement).

That drive (depending on your dip switch settings is either (from the
front of the cabinet) the last drive on your right or the sixth drive
from your left.

You can determine which drive that is by doing a format, select target
5 and then 'analyse' then 'read'. While that is running go to the
cabinet and note which LED is flashing. (Actually depending on the
drive it may not flash but may faintly pulse, but in any case the LED
will exhibit different behaviour from the rest)
