./dtlogin stop; ./dtlogin start caused kernel panic?

When I tried to do this:
# ptree 25032
453 /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin -daemon
25018 /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin - daemon
25031 dtgreet -display :0
25032 <defunct>
# cd /etc/init.d
# ./dtlogin stop
# ./dtlogin start
# ps -ef | grep -i 'defunct'
root 15726 15694 0 09:51:53 pts/2 0:00 grep -i defunct
# ps -ef | grep -i 'dtlogin'
root 15721 1 0 09:51:49 ? 0:00
/usr/dt/bin/dtlogin -daemon
root 15728 15694 0 09:52:00 pts/2 0:00 grep -i dtlogin
#
Up to this point, 30 seconds later, I lost the connection to the
server, and the server was kernel panic and rebooted itself.
Any clue? It is a SunFire 280R with Solaris 10 installed.
