I have a Solaris 10 6/06 image running under VMware (free one, current

Whats "host-only" I wonder. I used bridged networking
Most times that it boots, the windows host either can't see it at all
over the network, or it cvan but things fall to bits after a very small
amount of traffic (you can open a ssh connection, and type a few
hundred characters, then it just freezes and dies).
Has anyone seen anything like this?
Not me. But it sounds like pcn0 is a best guess
Theres the VMWare Knowledge Base and Google where
such matters are discussed.
Is there any fix?
Possibly. But "Windows" and "pcn0" aint a whole lot to go on is it?
I got a similar ifconfig at first even though I actually had an e1000g.
At first I tried a static IP install and was getting nowhere as the NIC
pcn0 didnt really exist..
I attempted a default DHCP install and pcn got replaced with e1000g!?
OK I got a NIC but that was just the beginning of my fun.
In my case Im using a Gateway laptop dual core Turion with a 14"
widescreen.
It took nearly a week to get the thing going where I could run a "team"
of FreeBSD
6.1 and Solaris 10 64 bit update 2 : /
FreeBSD was a whole other mess
NetBSD "just worked" as usual.
I think you have VMWare problems which have little to do with Solaris
x86
as such. Try some searches which address your particular setup
problems..
