I downloaded Solaris10 6/06. When I installed it on my
PC, it showed 32 bit. But my CPU is 64 bit.
Does anybody knows where I can download 64 bit Solaris?
There is only one version of Solaris, and that's 64-bit. However for
obvious robustness reasons the installer runs a 32-bit kernel.
Actually, it ran in 32 bit mode because the first CD had
been out of spare space for some time, and the 64 bit binaries
wouldn't fit in the system image on the first CD. That's
probably no longer the case, but I don't suppose anyone
has got round to changing it, since it really doesn't matter.
Once you've installed, the default kernel that's started is 64-bit.
