Nge nge ... ngeeeee!

Hi all.
I have problem with nge(7D). My machine has built in on board Nvidia GbE
ethernet and one external PCI 3com card (elxl(7D)).
When I boot the system, nge(7D) is showing me this on console and in the log:
nge: [ID 742679 kern.notice] NOTICE: nge0: link down
and then afer 1-2 sec:
nge: [ID 742679 kern.notice] NOTICE: nge0: link up 100Mbps Full-Duplex
(initialised)
.... and it works (after cca 1 minute, despite a fact that it is on cross over
cable and there is no Spanning Tree Protocol).
However, when I updated drivers and kernel with pca, nge is not working anymore.
There is no 'NOTICE: nge0 ...' messages during boot, but interface nge0 is
(according to ifconfig) up and running - I can ping my own address, but nothing
is coming to or from the wire - neither after 5 minutes. There is nothing in
syslog. Well, patchrm 122530-05 (nge update from Nov/03/2006) is the only
workaround - 122530-01 (11.10.0,REV=2005.06.22.03.40) which comes with stock
6/06 release works ok.
