Solaris Express snv_b52

Haven't had much time recently to keep up with Solaris Express, but
I did download snv_b52 in order to setup a demo. So far, haven't
managed to get it working on anything.
Toshiba Portege M100 -- Installs fine, but kernel crashes every
time near the end of booting. Booting with -v shows this to be just
after loading the asy driver, but it's not the asy driver as it
still crashes even if I exclude that driver. The crash varies,
sometimes a complete lockup (caps-lock no longer even toggles the
light), sometimes system resets, once I got a panic message out,
but it's always in exactly the same place. It won't drop into kmdb.
Raised a bugid. Strangely, it was installed from CD-ROM and reboots
fine after CD1, but then after installing CD2-6, it's no longer
bootable. Tried installing twice and also via lu, but same results
every time. Solaris 10 Update 3 works fine on this laptop.
Then tried on a PIII. The java installer complains that the CD1 it
just booted from isn't the right media and won't go any further.
The older GUI installer gets as far as laying out the filesystems
(I need to preserve slices with an earlier working installation),
and suddenly vanishes (crashes I suspect).
I've not noticed reports of anyone else trying snv_b52, so I'm
wondering if anyone has it working?
