Hi all,
My situation is that I got a quote from current sale rep, and I wasn't happy
with the quote, so I called Sun for other sale reps contact, then Sun
refused my request for no reason, seems to me that it is top secret to keep
all sun sale rep contact info. I have been calling different Sun number and
still no result.
Weird !!! What is strategy is that???!!!
This really isn't unusual. No company wants its sales reps to compete
with each other. If you got the number of a different rep, he wouldn't
be able to issue you another quote.
If you don't like the price quoted my advice would be to look for a
reseller in your area. They might be willing to provide a lower price
in order to get a new customer. You could even get multiple quotes
from multiple vendors. Alternately you could try to ask for your Sun
rep's manager. Since the manager probably already was involved in the
quote, however, it might not do much good.
If you are upset with the timeliness, accuracy, or professionalism of
your rep and his quotes, going to the manager is probably the better
idea. But going the VAR route isn't a bad idea in this situation
either: one of the benefits of using a VAR is a more streamlined and
flexible buying process.
