in Solaris 10? I am going crazy with the beep!
I often had this request, and it turned out everytime the issue was
coming from users not familiar enough with the vi editor and
unecessarily pressing the escape key when already in command mode ...
All very well. I am not a beginner in vi. [...]
The problem isn't the editor usage. If you read the title, I would
like to disable that beep not a opinion like that: "you are a
beginner, you must learn it bla bla bla".
Sorry about that, I was just trying to share my experience, nothing personal.
The problem is with my
layout keyboard: there isn't a brazilian keyboard layout on Solaris,
unfortunately.
So as it isn't vi, with which the issue could have been easily fixed, how are these beeps generated ?
