coming from users not familiar enough with the vi editor and
unecessarily pressing the escape key when already in command mode ...
The problem isn't the editor usage. If you read the title, I would
like to disable that beep not a opinion like that: "you are a
beginner, you must learn it bla bla bla".

The problem is with mySo as it isn't vi, with which the issue could have been easily fixed,
layout keyboard: there isn't a brazilian keyboard layout on Solaris,
unfortunately.
how are these beeps generated ?
Almost everything generates a beep because the wrong layout in
console. In shell, by example.
So I am using the X only now.
What do you mean "almost everything" ?
What is your hardware ?
Are you using an USB keyboard ?
What is your keyboard setting in eeprom ?
