Another thing is that the screen blanking does not work.

Let me expound a bit,
The screen appears to go into standby mode but the LEDs on the front
are not lit like normal. Usually the green one is lit for on and the
amber one for standby, but when this happens, neither is lit. If I
move the mouse or kit keys nothing happens, but if I toggle the power
on and off on the display, it comes back on and displays properly.
Now if I use xset to force DPMS standby suspend or off, the monitor
will standby like it should and come back on if I move the mouse or
depress keys, but if I use the 'xset s blank on' command or even just
'xset s on' nothing happens. The screen saver does not appear to
work. I do use the -display :0 switch in all of these so its not that
its kicking errors because it can't access the right screen, it just
apparently does nothing. Thats what I mean by the screen blanking
doesn't work, the blank screen screen-saver or any other screen saver
doesn't work.
I can't consistently duplicate the problem.
