It depends on just what you want. It's an "industrial strength" Unix. It's not Linux and it's sure as hell not Windows. It's a little weak on web browsing, games and such trivia. It's a lot more work to install and configure than Windows and requires more know how. It's certainly more reliable than Windows.

If you have a spare box or a spare disk, give it a try.
