GIven that you're familiar with a UNIX-like OS, yes I'd say SOlaris 10
is a good choice for a home user (though SOlaris Express would be a better
one). I'm typing this from my home Solaris box, and my non-techie wife
is sitting next to me checking her email and surfing the web on her Solaris
box.
