Re: PS1 prompt set prior to /etc/profile



DId you take a look at ~/.profile? What's inside the file?

Yes, there aren't any PS1 lines in there. There also aren't any
scripts being called from the ~/.profile. In any event, putting "env"
at the top of /etc/profile shows that it is being set before /etc/
profile.
