Does anyone know if there is an option to format in Solaris 10 (u4,

for it and I'm so much cleverer than you that I just can't trust you
to actually be competent" feature.
How do I file a request for a "hammer nails into the head of whoever
added this braindeath" option? That would actually be some use.
I mean, really.

How about just editing /etc/vfstab to comment out the offending entry or entries? Do your thing with format and edit vfstab again.
I realize that you'd rather do it your way but if you actually want to get the job done. . . .
.
