backing up a netapp via solaris

just wanted to quickly get some ideas on how people back up their
NetApp Filers from Solaris.

I'm running Solaris 9 and the Filer is a FAS250. Our backup software
is Networker 7.0.

So far the theory is we update to 7.2 and get an NDMP license.
Unfortunately, we've been quoted over NZ$3000 for this license. The
upgrade to 7.2, however, will only cost us for the media.

What other alternatives do I have (on short notice, before this
business case gets signed off)?

Veritas is out, as a license for that will be more than just the NDMP
license for Networker.

So what do you use to back up your Filer, and what issues have you
had?

thanks.
