Re: Solaris 10 hangs up after login....!!!

Ian Collins.

Hi IanCollins,

Thanx for the info.

But Plz, I would like to troubleshoot my currently installed version.

I dont want to format my system & re install.Nor do i hav that much
time.

I googled & found some threads with somewhat similar issues,

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5209748&messageID=9856374

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5187910

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=864&threadID=5089131

In one of the above mentioned thread, the user has tried to change the
video frequency ,After that he got an error & he used kdmconfig -u &
kdmconfig-c & he has changed from xserver to xsun & rebooted.

But i dont know how to tweak those settings in a command prompt
environment in Solaris 10 as am new to this.

Maybe should i select "Solaris failsafe" option in the grub bootloader
& after i get the "starting shell #" should i try these commands ????

Also before I try these I would also try some suggestions given by
Casper H. S. *** in this post.

I ll try these once i go home.....

Also if nothing works out I will also take screenshots step by step
about my problem with my digicam & I ll host those pictures in
Imageshack & I ll put the links here.....

I would like to troubleshoot further in the version that i have
installed now. I feel like am learning some stuff about Solaris when i
try to troubleshoot rather than format & install it again....

Thanx & Regards,
Codewarrior.
