Georg,
the 3510 comes with the feature of the host WWN filters for a LUN. You
decide which of your connected servers (identified by the WWN of the
FC HBA in a server) is allowed to see the LUN.
E.g. WWN 00-01-xx-xx-xx is allowed to see LUN 0 where as WWN 00-02-xx-
xx-xx is allowed to see LUN1.
That's why it doesn't matter if both servers are connected to the same
port.

Andre,
OK I can see this in the config now .
sccli> show lun-maps
Ch Tgt LUN ld/lv ID-Partition Assigned Filter Map
--------------------------------------------------------------
0 40 0 ld0 4044B931-00 Primary 210000E09B193A39 {f480e:pci0}
0 40 1 ld0 4044B931-01 Primary 210000E09B193A39 {f480e:pci0}
5 46 0 ld1 4829683A-00 Secondary 210000E09B1B4121 {f280c:pci3}
I've realise I forgot to state my intentions. What I want to do is to get
the two servers to see BOTH luns ! . This is for a sort of home brew
failover system . Do you know if this is possible or can a particular LUN
only be seen be one server ?
Thaks
George
Hi Georg,
this is possible. Just change the configuration inside the management
of the 3510. There you can make the LUN visible to multiple WWNs. We
use the same configuration for our HA cluster. Both server nodes are
connected to the same LUNs.

André
