hardware RAID to copy system?

Hardware RAID on the V245 seems good, mostly.

Does anyone know why this doesn't seem to work:

Servers "A" and "B" both have a hardware RAID1 array that's "optimal".
I power down both systems (init 5) and pull both drives from server
"B". I take one drive from system "A" and put it in server "B".

I expect this to mirror the system from server "A" to "B" but "B"
can't boot from the disk.

Can I make this work?
