I always could use /home/user1 without any problem. I was then informed recently that the server was moved to a new data center, and since then I can't login anymore via SSH. An administrator told me he had only changed the IP address somewhere. I doubt that they changed any permissions as after all it was just a move to a new data center.
Your machine is mounting the directory /home/user1 from sun1:/export/
home/user1. What's the permission on /export/home/user1 at sun1?
sun1 is the same server I use. The permissions look good, too:
drwxr-x--- 10 user1 other 1024 Jan 11 18:39 user1
As I wrote in another reply to Oscar I'm puzzled what the SSH server is doing for minutes after entering my username and password. Could it be that the server is trying to find sun1 without knowing that he is sun1? I don't know where the administrators changed the IP address after the move but having to wait for minutes after entering username and password doesn't seem to be normal?
