Has anyone managed to get a firewire drive to write at more than 1MB/s on SPARC
Solaris with the built in firewire? if so could you tell me what model
workstation was used and what specific drive was being used with the scsa1394
driver?
I just hooked a 30GB 2.5" HDD (in a combo firewire/USB enclosure) to a
Sun Blade 100 running Solaris 10u4.
I rmformatted and newfs'd the single partition and mounted it on /mnt.
I then did:
# time dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/zero bs=64k count=1024
real 0m5.188s
user 0m0.019s
sys 0m0.281s
The disk is an IC25N030ATDA04-0 (a 4200rpm drive).
According to my calculations this is 12.035MByte/sec. What filesystem
type was your drive - pcfs?
