Read the link and it is interesting.Wondering if I don`t have access
to box physically,can the same be replicated through vertias/os
commands (without breaking the mirror )

If everything works, you're correct.  The issue is that there's no easy
backout if you discover a problem during or after the upgrade.  With
Live Upgrade, you can reboot into the old environment if necessary.

With VxVM mirrors, you can use one of the disks as your fallback
environment (but it can't be managed directly by LU without
unencapsulating).  See some other posts I've made about using VxVM
mirrors for patch fallbacks.  The same concepts should work for
upgrades.
