Haven't touched Solaris for 4+ years and that was Solaris 7. Now, I

Can't help with sysadmin books, but the largest changes in that
period are between Solaris 9 and Solaris 10. You could look over
the "What's new" document for Solaris 10 on docs.sun.com.
The most "in your face" change is going to be SMF (Service
Management Facility) which replaced the init.d startup scripts
mechanism, although init.d stuff is still there in a limited
form for backwards compatibility. Most of the other changes
are additions which you can start investigating when you're
ready to, but you can ignore until that time.

Thanks - got it up and running this weekend. Both the changes and my
lack of memory keep surprising me. Thanks again, jim
