Hello there, I posted this question (problem) om Sunday,So there was no reason to start a whole new thread was there?
Its still the same problem(s).
I received one answer, but it didn't help.Well I wasnt overly happy about getting email from you maybe.??
It is a throw away account - amazing I even looked there
So far i know "boot cdrom -s" doesn't work, in other words, the most IAs I said in email your DVD may be unbootable
can get is to the "ok" prompt.
(its claimed to be a Sun DVD folks)
The DVD writer/reader may not be compatible for some reason
It could be both reasons
Here comes my question,We can hardly wait?
could this be a hardware problem?, because IThey may not do anything like you expect until the system is actually up?
notice that none of the LEDs, on the Sun keyboard, light up, none of
them work, "caps lock", "num lock" or "scroll lock" work. So what I did,
is try a couple of different keyboards on the SunBlade 100, and on one
of them the same thing happened, none of the LEDs came up, on the other
keyboard, all the LEDs came up, but then I couldn't turn them off.
Finally I tried the Sun keyboard on a Windows machine, and the LEDs seem
the work fine, so I could do "caps lock", "num lock" and so on.
Again, could it be that SunBlade 100's USB plugs are damaged? If it fits you must acquit... : <
I would use a serial console and observe what happens from there.Guys/Gals, sorry for creating another thread, about the disks I am using,
You may need to turn on diags from the ok prompt.
No promises but something might show there before the screen lights up
even.

It seems that you must resort to using dial up for usenet??
O dear. Just one more thing Id like to fix at vcn if theyd only let me : <

one of them is an actal Sun DVD, then I have one Solaris 9 DVD, that I
downloaded from Sun, and burned at home, and I know this one works,
because I used once to install Solaris 9 on a different machine.
Strange - Ive never gotten burned DVD iso's to boot on old Sun equipment.
Sounds more and more like the DVD reader/writer just isnt up to snuff..
To "Mr ASIDE", what is wrong with using usenet from vcn?, notice that I
didn't say "used dial up", I have not used dial up in years, I always
connect to VCN (Vancouver Community Net) using telnet.
Maybe I shoulda said SIDEBAR? - O well. Telnet access.
Another thing Id like to fix.. Never mind my ravings about vcn.
The web site goes to great length to say you cant use ADSL or cable to
access Usenet, only dial up : >
I still suggest setting up a serial console. Dont plug in the keyboard
at the same time.
