I heard of this one site where the head sysadmin struggled to figure out
why the machine would crash and reboot late at night with no logs or any

Another wild but true story of a Sun crashing due to the Moon.
Foster City CA is essentially built on fill bordering SF Bay. One
building's electrical ground wasn't placed deep enough and twice
each day power went wacko and the systems crashed. Turned out tides
affected the water table depth and sinking the ground(s) deeper fixed
the problem.
