I tried to install Solaris Express build 99 in my dell precision 390
from windows XP 64 vmware 6.5. It hangs up in extracting windows files.
Then I tried Solaris express build 97, it hangs up in extracting java
files. During the installation, I noticed that it displayed that they
are trying to install 32 bit OS
to my 64 bit computer. that is weird to me.

If it's not running on the bare metal, you have to check exactly what
pseudo driver VMware is providing.

There's no such thing as a "32 bit install"; when install, Solaris will
always boot the 32 bit kernel. It will then install *all* bits, for
both 32 and 64 kernels. When booting the installed, Solaris will pick
the best kernel.

then I tried to install solaris 2008-11 development version from vmware
6.5. After the installation, there is a desktop icon called "install
solaris" in solaris, I clicked that icon to install solaris.
after two hours, there is nothing special shows up in the screen.
it means that it hangs up.

Make sure that you proberly install the VMware instances to support
Solaris.

after the forced reboot, the computer goes to solaris 10 and login as
jack by default. There is no windows bootable option to select from.
what is the password for me to get to the super user?
how to get back into my windows OS?

Read the VMware manual; it tells you how to get back into the
native operating system.
