[ ... ]I=3D92m using a messaging server on a solaris 10 zone and I keep getting
errors from my messaging server indicating network problems. This error
occurs on different machines, to different destinations and more often
in =3D93big mails=3D94. I updated the messaging server and solaris
instance (solaris 10 8/07 - Generic_137111-07) and still getting the
same errors (the zone is using ip-exclusive).
This king of errors on messaging server log: Error writing SMTP packet
On the OS there are no errors =85 netstat =96s seems normal for a machine
that=92s connected to the internet.
I'd try to capture such a failure with snoop -- might be difficult if it
happens not too often, but when done, chances are good that one can see what
goes wrong there...

Query a PGP key server (e.g.http://www.pgp.net/) for my public key 41068629.
Strange sender address? Please seehttp://www.thiemo.net/misc/list-mail.shtml
I captured what happened. At the end, the remote site sends a FIN or a
RESET. But it sends it because my site appears to be stuck sending the
same packet repeatedly even after the remote site acknowledged it. All
this, when trying to “recover” from a packet loss.
In all cases that I have captured, this last packet that we send is
acknowledged. First the other site sends an ACK with a number superior
and then it tries to ack it by SACK. Neither way results, so the
remote site sends a FIN.

This strange behavior disappeared after disabling ipfilter.
Thus anyone knows what kind of tuning needs to be made to ipfilter so
this situation doesn’t occur?
