I don't trust containers much. We also have Oracle and Veritas Cluster
services on this box (all tested on 5.9 only). I really need to run
native 5.9. I did check the Sun HCL today, and for some reason they
don't list old OS versions for their HW. For example, for E220, they
only note that it supports 10 but don't mention anything about earlier
versions.
I think all new Sparc servers require S10.
For S9 native, you must get one of the canceled products
Fire-v240/245.
Or try&buy the M3000 with S10, and configure S9 containers.
Oracle will work, but Veritas Cluster probably not.
NB: thanks to the M3000 RAS features you can have one box.
