memset() implement for T2+ vs UltraSPARC processors.

Following my request the other day to get someone to build MPFR on a SPARC, there has been some discussion on the MPFR mailing list about this. It would appear to be a gcc compiler bug, but is only seen on T2+ processors. It has been suggested memset() is implemented differently on the T2+ to other processors, though I'm not sure where this information is supposed to have come from.

There is this quote:

Can anyone at Sun, with access to the source code for Solaris 10 update 7 let me know?

Since this bug is only observed on the T2+ processor, it could be due to a different implementation of the code.
