What's the fast way to display Linux desktop on Solaris box?

I've an application which need to runs on Linux and needs a lot of
processing power. It's a 3D electromagnetic simulator and needs to
have reasonable graphics performance, as I'll be rotating objects to
look at them from different angles.
Since the application is running on a noisy server with a pair of quad
core Xeons, I need to locate it away from my Sun Ultra 27 desktop.
What's the best way to run this X application, or preferably get the
whole of the Linux desktop to display on my Sun? I can tunnel with
$ ssh -X <remote linux box>
but I don't want to spend time encrypting data for a link where
security is a non-issue.
The Linux box will run CentOS 4.x or 5.x. (The software appears to be
supported on 4.x and 5.x, but the license manager on 3.x and 4.x!!!!)
I'm hoping the vendor can provide a license manager which runs on a
less ancient version of CentOS (Rehat).
I have configured machines in the past to display their applications
on remote machine, but must admit I've forgot how to do it, so any
commands that someone can post would be appreciate. As I say, speed is
everything, but security is a non-issue. The Linux box wont even have
internet access.
