An LDAP question

Hey folks;
Got a question more about LDAP than Solaris (or even Unix in general,
although that's where it's getting deployed), but this is the group of
people I trust most with technical stuff.
We have an LDAP suffix "o=app,dc=example,dc=com". It is the top level
suffix, i.e. there is no "dc=example,dc=com" above it. Now we have an
admin who wants to set up a a parallel suffix "dc=example,dc=com" on the
same server, but with no logical connection between the two. The goal is
to _eventually_ migrate the "o=app" underneath the other
"dc=example,dc=com" tree.
I have to say that having a two unrelated trees, one of which is named as
a child of the other, gives me the heebie jeebies; but I can't easily nail
down why. Can anyone offer some insight into where this might go wrong?
Alternatively, a pointer to some good LDAP communities would be appreciated.
Cheers folks!
Colin
