I've read the other book from him "The UNIX philosophy". It is a good
read and does explain a few things that makes UNIX make a little more
sense.
However one criticism of that book (I can't comment on the newer one) is
that he does a bit of comparison between VMS and UNIX, and his VMS
skills were such that when he is pointing out what he felt was an
advantage in UNIX over other OS's, his skillset of VMS didn't cover how
you could achieve on VMS what he thought was so great about UNIX.
However I did find it well written, and "enthusiastically written" if
that conjures up a writing style.
