DT messaging system problem

Hallo,
I have a software problem with a Compaq Tru64 V5.1A (Rev. 1885): when
I log in and enter, this message appears: "DT messaging system could
not be started". At this point, if I choose "OK", I immediately log
out. If I close the window with the error message and ignore it, I can
work normally, but without the possibility to open any image ("can't
open display" is the error message) and to log out correctly (to do it
I have to kill all my processes…).
