NIS-user account creatin script

Dear all TRUE64-Gurus,
I am looking for a shellscript, which can be used in order to create a number of new
NIS-user accounts, including password supply, userid, etc. at ones, and after that one NIS
database update.
While working with
useradd -x distributed=1 ... which updates the complete NIS system for every user, it
takes ages, if one like to add 10 new users one after the other.

Any help is appreciated.
