I already have the answer.
The installation of Extended System V Functionality causes the
creation of the directory /usr/lib/nls/loc/iconvTable with some files
in it.
Worldwide Language Support, however, wants to create a symbolic link
to the directory /usr/i18n/lib/nls/loc/iconvTable in that place.
I had to deinstall Extended System V, remove the directory
/usr/lib/nls/loc/iconvTable and then install Worldwide Language
Support.
After that I could install Extended System V Functionality.
There is apparently an order in which you have to perform an
installation of the associated products. I wonder if any of this is
documented.
