Hello,
I have recently put Tru64 onto a 500AU workstation system. I have been
using FreeBSD on this system for some time (see previous posts) and had
this problem also.
When the nic is setup to autosense/negotiate it will automatically
detect as being 100-FULL. The switch (Cisco Catalyst 2950) as being
100-FULL but the performance is woefull. Not able to get greater than
about 100kb/second from the network and its really unstable with the
traffic coming in bursts etc.
I have TWO 500AUs and both show exactly the same symptoms on both
FreeBSD and Tru64. Is there something in the config that I need to change.
If I try and force the network card to anything it will be just as poor
in the performance. Ive tried different cables both STP and UTP. Im a
little confused. Any additional advise could be great.
Thanks
J
