the OSF drivers are fairly solid for the tulips... and the 2950 is a
popular switch which i have no problems with nor seen any problems
relating to normal connectivity.
you say performance is dismal, but what exactly is dismal? post some
netstat -in counters, SRM settings for ewa*, etc... maybe even the
Cisco counter settings and interface config. Cisco switches and tulips
dont get along when autonegotiating (from what i've seen).
if all config looks good and it still sux then you can get a cheapo
DE500 just about anywhere, or i think any wImptel 82559 chipset (DE600)
should work.
