What are the main differences between the original DEC build of
Digital UNIX and the later-released Tru64 UNIX which came out after
Compaq bought DEC?
Digital UNIX to Tru64 UNIX was just a name change. The only
influence Compaq had on the name change was acquiring Digital and
having to remove Digital from the name of many products.
From our standpoint, only our benefits package changed.Development continued unchanged. We had a much larger impact on
development when HP acquired Compaq. Then both our benefits
changed as well as development.
Any changes were just the typical new version enhancements. This
information should be available in the release notes. Most of
this stuff should be on-line
