Block sizes for Tru64 5.1Bv4

We have a customer that we sold an ES45 Model 2 with Tru64 5.1bv4
and patch 6 installed
We supplied an external 5TB array (each logical volume less than 1TB)
SCSI HBA is the KZPEA-DB U160 Dual Channel adapter.
The system works fine, sees the raid array using a KZPCA U2 adapter but
using the Adaptec it cannot see the external drives with Tru64 (it sees them
fine in the SRM (6 logicals on our external raid array)

Anyone got any clues ?
Does NHD7 need to be installed for some reason even though Tru64 loads and
sees the adaptec and allows configuration of the internal storage drives (HP
hot plug)

Any comments, criticisms or advice would be massively appreciated
